Hi, I'm Lavanya.

I'm a student of technology and a practitioner of machine learning, artificial intelligence and data science.

This site began as brainsesh, short for brain-session: a space dedicated to learning, growth, reflection and inspiration. It still is. I write to make ideas in AI, machine learning, mathematics and applied economics accessible and fascinating, and to share technical perspectives, thought experiments and what I learn along the way. The newsletter keeps the brainsesh name.

• AI in healthcareClinical AI, medical imaging, health data and the evaluation and safety questions that come with them.
• EssaysResilience, craft and what it means to keep showing up. This section was called Mindset Reset on the old site.

Most pieces are one of four kinds: paper reviews, deep dives into a model or system, practical engineering guides, and notes from talks and lectures. There are 6 so far, all on the writing page.
